Print quality is plenty good and the speed of printing the first page is very fast (just seconds before the paper starts coming out). It does have a small paper tray but we don't use it often so that hasn't been a problem. We've had it a year and have found only two small issues. The output either drops onto the table in front of the printer or the output paper catcher must be installed which ruins the looks. The other issue is the power button ...more

Be aware that you should not expect to use a range of paper in this machine. I use standard 20 lb generic laserjet paper with no problem but a one-time shift to heavier stock resulted in an immediate paperjam. Clearing out the jam took a while but then going back to regular paper resulted in no further problems. There is a built-in printer problem diagnostic in the software that might be useful someday when something goes wrong but ...more

Setup was a breeze on my Mac, and it prints documents quite faster than I was expecting. It is minimalist in its looks, as well as in its features. I bought it because I didn't need all the bells and whistles; I need to print documents (invoices, NDAs, proposals, etc) plain and simple. Sure there has been a paper jam or two ( no. really, no more than 2 in two years), but both times I was using less-than-optimum used scratch paper. It usually prints on this stuff no problem other than those exceptions. Pros: Sick design. Flat top easy for stacking books/papers/folders. Super easy installation (have a firewire? done son.) My Samsung ML-1630 currently shows a total page count of 2788. Printing a diagnostic page revealed that the current cartridge in my printer, a genuine Samsung cartridge, shows a page count of 1935 (see note below), despite which the pages being printed with this cartridge are still printing rich and dark.
