Works well for wide angle stadium shots or family photos. I also use in boat taking photo's of my fish. The only knocks, I thought it was heavy, but it also seems quite well built. I use this lens primarily for any landscape shots - and some portrait shots where I'm doing more than headshots (I have a much better 50mm for that). Granted with the magnification for my D70 because it is digital, this is not THE ideal wide-angle lens. The best you get is around 26mm. If you need a wider angle than that and are shotting with a similar Nikon digital SLR, this is not for you.... Otherwise: Coupled with a 77mm circular polarizer, this is an exceptionally sharp lens. This lens comes with a longer warranty than the competitive brands, a lens hood (which some brands do not), and presents no compatibility problems with either my Minolta 5000i or Maximum 5. The range is very functional, with standard wide angle working well at 28mm, and the availability of some very interesting " special effects", if desired, with close-ups at the wider 19mm range. Photos are clear and colors are vibrant, with adequate edge definition. Autofocus is speedy. At the price, it's a cheap and practical way to get more shots without spending too much money.
