I own 3/8 and 1/2 inch dewalt drills which are corded, and use them for heavy duty projects on a regular basis. There is no substitute for plugging into a wall outlet when it comes to power, and they will last forever, but I needed a light, compact, cordless drill for small jobs and for portability.
