[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2000-01-03 Summary: One of the best authors? ... I read this book a few years ago, after meeting the author Jean Ure at my school. She could possibly be one of the nicest and most interesting people I have ever met, making time for everyone and making sure we were all happy with the way she treated us. This has to be one of the best of her books, and I feel almost like I understand just how these characters are feeling and why she put them in that position. The story is most noticeable because of the story, there is not predictable plot and you find yourself sittin ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2006-10-17 Summary: The Plague ... I read this book at a very tender age and while it was depressing, it's story haunts me to this day. Jean Ure does a wonderful job creating a world in which a plague has overtaken and killed almost everything, including the media. It reminds me of that fabulous quote, "The revolution will not be televised." In this book Ure paints a fine picture of what could happen to three very different people - the weak go mad, the strong survive. The main character is Fran, who must learn to live without her parents and struggles ...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-07-17 Summary: Deserves 10 Stars All The Way ... How do I begin explaining this awesome book? Captivating, heartwrenching, exciting, fantastic and beautiful are all great words to describe this book. Wolf-Woman is extremely well written, well thought out, and with carefully developed characters. I have no doubt that Sherryl Jordan's heart and soul went into this book. It by far one of the best I've ever read. P.S. There is one thing I'd like to point out that none of the other reviewers seem to have gotten right: the book takes place somewhere in Europe shortly after ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 1999-09-04 Summary: a wonderful story about wolves, human nature, love & sadness ... This book is just that, with a little bit of everything. Set in a prehistoric setting in first person, the reader can really connect with every one of Tanith's (the main character) thoughts. Tanith lived with wolves as a small child before the tribe of Ahear came to kill the wolves and return her to human society, treating her as nothing more than a slave. Soon she begins to long to return to the wolves, who treated her more kindly than any human ever did. But a young man from a neighboring tribe inevitably falls in ...more
